Dry Hydrotherapy:
How it works:
The body’s ability to maintain homeostasis (stable condition of the body’s internal environment within a very limited range) in a changing environment is the key that unlocks the benefits of hydrotherapy. As the nervous system perceives changes in temperature the body responds by altering the flow of blood and lymph. This increasing and decreasing of blood and lymph assists the body to move oxygen and nutrients to cells and tissues throughout the body and to carry toxins away from these cells.
The greater the difference between body temperature and water temperature, the greater the physiological effect. At At Hand massage Studio the temperature of the AquaMED AM200 dry hydrotherapy bed is 95 degrees F to produce a warm, comfortable effect on the body. This helps lower blood pressure and heart rate while pushing a larger volume of blood through the heart with each contraction.

“Give me the Knowledge to enjoy the therapeutic benefits of Hydrotherapy for better health … and the wisdom to stay Dry”  unknown

Pressurized water, such as that found in whirlpools and dry hydrotherapy massage beds, applies physical energy to tissues while stimulating the skin promoting relaxation and overall health. The AM200 uses a patented Water-through-Air technology with the jets positioned just above the water level. As water leaves the jets, it only has to pass through air allowing the pressure to remain consistent from the time it leaves the jets until it reaches you. These traveling jets produce a constant, wave-like flow of water similar to a traditional Swedish massage. These jets have a pressure level ranging from 2-35 PSI to accommodate every users preference. As this pressurized water hits your skin, the blood vessels dilate, circulation increases and nutrients are carried to the skin improving the skin’s condition, texture and tone.

Some of the benefits of dry hydrotherapy massage include:

  • Increased blood circulation
  • Decreased muscle tension
  • Increased oxygen absorption in the blood stream
  • Decreased inflammation and muscular toxins
  • Increased release of endorphins
  • Decreased blood pressure
  • Decreased muscle guarding
  • Increased muscular range of motion

Shiatsu Reclining Chair
How it works: The Premier PHP2026 massage recliner uses today’s most advanced technology to mimic the hand motions of a massage therapist. When your session begins the PHP2026 scans your body to locate your individual acupressure points. It then focuses customized Shiatsu, Deep Tissue and Swedish massage styles in four customizable modes.

  1. The rolling mode: Specially designed rollers traverse pressure points in an outward motion stimulating the blood flow that supplies oxygen to body tissues while removing toxins.
  2. The kneading mode: Four bi-directional rollers operate in a kneading fashion to loosen knots and relieve tension in tired muscles. By moving both clockwise and counter clockwise these rollers deliver the most effective massage available in any recliner.
  3. The tapping mode: Tapping patterns work at varying speeds with pin-point accuracy sending tension-breaking vibrations deep into muscle area that might have been missed by rolling or kneading.
  4. Kneading and tapping modes are used together in specific sequences to provide an intense massage that works the entire back. Surface tensions and deep knots are released simultaneously.

Additionally the PHP-2026 has a three-dimensional calf massager that kneads and squeezes the sides and back of each calf. The mechanical massagers closely replicate the hands of professional massage therapists by manipulating the calf muscles for a more therapeutic massage experience.

All functions are instantly adjustable with the LCD remote. Adjustable speed and intensity controls allow you to customize your massage for anything from Deep Tissue therapy to a soothing wind-down at the end of a day.
